What's going on related to PSECCO at AGU 2024? Also, some Bluesky updates!

Date

Hi y'all!

This 'news' update is going to be a short one but a good one, and is written specifically for those of you headed to the 2024 AGU Meeting in Washington, D.C. starting Monday of next week, and running between December 9th to 13th. Take a look at the graphic below for more information on what not to miss (for text readers there is alt text that outlines these events too)!

Tuesday, December 10, 16.40 - 16.50 ET: Presentation on PSECCO BAJEDI activities and roundtable discussion with others in the ‘Cryosphere for All’ session (C24A-04; Convention Center Salon I) Wednesday, December 11th, 10:20 - 11:50 ET: Session on ‘Weaving Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) into the Fabric of Polar and Alpine Sciences’ (C32A; Convention Center Salon I) Thursday, November 12th @ 18:00-19:00 ET: Social for polar early career researchers. RSVP here: tinyurl.com/polarECRsAGU24

While I (Mariama) will not be headed to AGU this year, my stellar colleagues Alexandra Padilla, Bradley Markle and Anne Gold will be there - so if you're looking to connect to chat about PSECCO programming or how to get involved, feel free to email psecco@colorado.edu and we can make sure you're connected with the right person to do that with.

On a conference-related social media note, many of you have already connected with us via our Bluesky account, and we encourage you to do so more this AGU (and onwards) by tagging us (@polarsecco) as you engage with PSECCO events! We've developed a list of Polar Science Organizations we also recommend you staying connected with to follow-along with what they're up to this AGU (and onwards) as well. Here's to hoping that platform helps connect the scientific community again like Twitter used to at these sorts of large events!

For those of you not attending AGU, the PSECCO team wishes you a restful next several weeks!

With Cheer,

Mariama
