2023 PSECCO Photo Contest Winners Announced!
PSECCO hosted a photo contest in the fall of 2023 to showcase the beauty of the polar regions and to feature early career scientists who work in them. We invited photos of fieldwork, research stations and sites, communities and daily life, wildlife, and natural and cultural landscapes. We judged photo submissions on composition, originality, use of color, and artistry.
We plan to use the submitted photos for outreach, engagement, and communications coming from the community office. Be on the lookout for these photos in upcoming newsletters, on our website and in other promotions!
We received a wide variety of spectacular photos, and it was difficult to only choose 10 winning photos among them! Below is the list of this year’s three photo contest winners and seven honorable mentions. Congratulations to these photographers for their unique and spectacular photos, and thank you to every one of you who submitted photos to this year's photo contest!
