PSECCO Gear Discounts

pro deal program graphicWe are excited to provide our community members with the PSECCO Pro Deal Program—aka gear discounts for all your field season needs! Our partnership with Outdoor ProLink provides access to their ProDeal program for our community. As a PSECCO member, you can now receive industry discounts on outdoor gear and equipment from top brands like Black Diamond, Smartwool, and more.

To apply for the PSECCO Pro Deal Program, simply visit our website and fill out the application form here. Once your application is approved, you will receive an invite that can be used to create your account through outdoorprolink.com.  Buying through Pro Deal sometimes comes with longer wait and shipping times. Please keep this in mind when prepping for your field season.

Who is eligible for this program?
To be eligible for this pro deal, please note that you must be a member of the PSECCO Slack channel and subscribed to our mailing list. If you haven't already, please join our community on Slack and sign up for our newsletter to ensure you're able to take advantage of this incredible opportunity for exclusive discounts on outdoor gear and equipment. Unfortunately, we understand that outdoorprolink.com does not currently ship outside of the United States, including Puerto Rico. However, we are working hard to find a solution to this limitation and will keep you updated on any progress made.

Have any questions? Please email psecco@colorado.edu for more information.

Note on the Outdoor Prolink Gear Discount

Despite our best efforts, the Outdoor Prolink gear discount is available exclusively within the United States. As per the Outdoor Prolink website, orders can only be shipped to U.S. addresses and cannot be processed for international shipping, including to U.S. territories like Puerto Rico.

We recognize the challenges this limitation may pose for those residing outside of the U.S. and appreciate your understanding.

For Students and Early Career Researchers

We encourage exploring initiatives that promote gear sharing or collaborative resource pooling within your networks to help address this gap. For example, CryoCommunity has a really great gear sharing program for cryospheric scientists that can aid in borrow gear from others, including being able to apply for funding to cover shipping costs and Toolik Field Station has a gear locker that folks who research there have access to! Additionally, APECS Canada has explored setting up a gear discount program on their own to help Canadian early career researchers have access to discounts as well.

Explore what else is out there, and if you are struggling to find something that works for you, we encourage you to start something yourself or reach out to psecco@colorado.edu to brainstorm other creative ideas about how to get gear-ready for the field season!

For Principle Investigators

We advocate for including gear costs in funding proposals to ensure equitable access to essential resources for research and fieldwork.
