Meet other early career scientists headed to Antarctica in the 2022-2023 season and learn about the science they're doing down there!

Heading to the ice can be an exhilarating (and sometimes overwhelming) experience, and having a network of people you know and rely on can be paramount to successfully embarking on any remote fieldwork expedition. As a result, we've created this 'lightning talks and social call for ECRs headed to Antarctica' event so that you share/learn about the science you/others are doing down there, and can get to know other folks headed to Antarctica for the first time.

All folks on the call will have an opportunity to present a lightning talk -- a short overview of the science you're/they're doing in Antarctica. All lightning talks must conform to the following format:

  • be two minutes or less in length
  • have no more than two slides
  • share who you are
  • share what your science is about
  • for more tips on how to effectively design a lightning talk please visit this website

If you have any questions related to the lightning talks and social event, please email psecco@colorado.edu. More information will be sent out to all registered participants closer to the day.
