PSECCO is hiring an Undergraduate Student Assistant!
The Center for Education, Engagement, and Evaluation (CEEE) at CIRES connects cutting-edge climate research and the public. CIRES (Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Science) is a partnership between CU Boulder and NOAA. The Polar Science Early Career Community Office (PSECCO), situated within CEEE, is a community-building and community-support organization for Arctic and Antarctic early career scientists.
Student Assistants are an integral and invaluable part of the CEEE group and perform skilled work on a variety of grants and projects. We are looking for a student to help with PSECCO activities who is self-motivated, professional, detail-oriented, and who can juggle multiple tasks/deadlines. Students with an interest in environmental science topics, and especially those related to the Arctic and the Antarctic, are especially encouraged to apply!
Tasks for the student include:
- Newsletter formatting and content curation
- Managing newsletter and mailing list subscriptions
- Video editing
- Updating webpages and writing blog posts for the PSECCO website
- Document creation and editing
- Basic graphic design via Canva
- Transcribing audio or video for accessibility
- Developing social media posts
- Help provide technical support on online PSECCO events
- Additional tasks as assigned by the Director, with provided instruction
Pay range: $16.50-$18.00 an hour
Essential Skills: An eye for detail and strong written communication skills.
Nice to have: Graphic design skills, writing + editing experience, a background in Arctic and/or Antarctic research
This is an hourly student position. You must be enrolled as a full-time student.
