Polar Early Career World Summit scheduled ahead of Arctic Science Summit Week & ICARP IV 2025

Date

The Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS) and the Polar Science Early Career Community Office (PSECCO) are pleased to announce that a Polar Early Career World Summit will be held in Boulder, Colorado, March 22-24, 2025.

This summit builds on the past success of APECS World Summits and will be held alongside the International Conference on Arctic Research Planning (ICARP) IV and Arctic Science Summit Week (ASSW) with the aim to bring together early career researchers, professionals, Indigenous scholars and knowledge holders connected to the Arctic, Antarctica, and high alpine environments from across the world. During this summit, participants will synthesize early career priorities to be integrated into the 5th International Polar Year (IPY) discussions; discuss the past, present and future of polar early career networks; and strengthen these networks through in-depth conversations, relationship-building, and developing formats of collaboration. Conversations will explore topics including what they perceive to be the most pressing polar science questions and themes, how we do science and polar science community culture.

Conversations at the Polar Early Career World Summit will be synthesized into multiple output formats to reach a broad audience and influence polar science policy and decision-making. This will amplify the voices of the polar early career community.
