Headed to Antarctica and curious to learn more about governance of the region? Learn more about governance past, present and future down south.
Antarctica belongs to no-one, yet is home to science and scientists from around the world—making it a place like no other. Learn from Dr. Iqra Choudhry and Kimberly Aiken about the history, current landscape and future considerations for governing this unique environment.
Kimberly Aiken
Kimberly Aiken (she/her), a Research and Policy Associate with the Antarctic and Southern Ocean Coalition provides support to a host of Antarctic environmental campaigns such as marine protected areas, krill conservation, tourism in Antarctica and climate change through digital story telling maps and online engagement. Kimberly is an incoming PhD candidate to the University of Tasmania, Australia Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies. She is excited about the work of early career researchers such as herself and providing value and effort to DEI initiatives within the polar community. When not working for Antarctica she enjoys exposure to different cultures and foods and a wide range of outdoor activities.
